What MM2H is — and is not

MM2H is a long-term, renewable social visit pass that allows qualifying foreigners to stay in Malaysia. It is not citizenship or permanent residence, and buying property does not by itself grant an MM2H pass. Requirements — including financial thresholds, property purchase conditions and stay obligations — are set by the Malaysian government and change from time to time. Always confirm current rules before making decisions.

Does buying property give me residence?

No. Property purchase may be a condition of some MM2H tiers, but the pass is granted under the government programme, not by the purchase itself.

Are the requirements fixed?
